DFW business brokers and M&A advisors
Dallas–Fort Worth is MDR & Associates' home market. The firm's one office sits in Frisco, at 1518 Legacy Dr., Suite 220, and from there our M&A advisors work with owners across the Metroplex, from Dallas and Fort Worth to Plano, McKinney, Arlington, Irving and the suburbs in between, who want to sell a profitable company for full value.
A Metroplex economy built on many industries at once
The Metroplex does not rest on a single industry. Banking and insurance, telecommunications and technology, energy, healthcare, transportation, manufacturing and logistics all carry weight here, and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport ties the region to the rest of the country and the world. Large corporate headquarters, from telecommunications to airlines, sit alongside the privately held companies that supply, maintain and serve them.
That mix is what makes Dallas–Fort Worth a strong place to sell. A manufacturer in Arlington, a distributor near the airport, an HVAC company in McKinney and a business-services firm in Irving each have a different natural buyer. The region draws corporate acquirers, private equity groups and people who want to own and run a company in a large market, and the right one for you depends on what your company does best.
Selling a company in Dallas–Fort Worth with a firm based here
Being based in the Metroplex means we can meet you on short notice, walk your facility more than once, and sit across the table from buyers in person throughout the deal. One of the firm's principals is in the room whenever terms are discussed. In a business community tied together by industry groups, banks and long-standing customer relationships, confidentiality is not optional.
So your company starts out anonymous. A buyer who wants more than the blind profile has to register with us, sign a nondisclosure agreement and hand over a financial profile showing the money is real. Our own database of private equity groups, capital groups and qualified individuals gets the first look; blind listings on business-for-sale marketplaces are added only if more reach is needed.
Since 2008 the firm has closed more than 250 transactions worth about $500 million in total, and it was named to the Axial Advisor 100 in 2023. Recent sales include Elite Landscape, Smith Tool & Mfg., U-Fix-It Appliance Parts and North Texas Surveying, the kinds of manufacturing, home-service, distribution and business-services companies found throughout the Metroplex.
From first meeting to wired funds
It begins with a discovery meeting at our Frisco office or yours, free and confidential. Bring three years of statements and we will come back with a low-to-high opinion of value. If we believe we can sell the company for its full value, we propose an engagement; if not, we tell you so. From there, ten defined steps take you from the marketing package and HD video through buyer meetings, rival offers, due diligence and the closing, usually over three to nine months.
Our fee is a success fee only, paid if and when the company sells; if it does not close, you owe nothing. Owners who want a first number before calling can use the online valuation snapshot. Your own transaction attorney and CPA stay involved from the letter of intent to the closing table, and we coordinate with them rather than around them.
Questions owners in Dallas–Fort Worth ask
Can I meet MDR & Associates in person if my company is in Fort Worth or Arlington rather than Frisco?
Yes. Our corporate office is in Frisco, but we come to owners across the Metroplex for meetings at their offices, plants and job sites, or at a CPA's or attorney's office. If you would rather not meet in your own building, we can choose a discreet location on your side of the Metroplex.
Are Dallas–Fort Worth buyers only interested in large companies?
No. We work with companies whose yearly revenue runs from roughly $3 million to $100 million, and buyers for that range include individuals, capital groups, private equity groups and corporate acquirers. What they share is an interest in steady profits, clean records and a business that does not depend on its owner for every decision.
