Sherman business brokers and M&A advisors
Sherman owners ready to sell have a sell-side option in MDR & Associates, whose M&A advisors work from the Metroplex. Sherman is the county seat of Grayson County, 70 miles north of Dallas on U.S. 75, and our advisors drive up to see you at your office or at a quieter spot of your choosing.
Semiconductors, food processing and the state's oldest chartered college
Sherman was founded in 1846 and named Grayson County seat the same year. In 1876 Austin College moved here; founded in 1849, it is the oldest college or university in Texas still operating under its original charter. In 1901 the Denison and Sherman Railway, the first electric interurban line in Texas, linked the two cities. The 2020 census counted 43,645 people in Sherman and 135,543 in the Sherman–Denison metropolitan area. U.S. 75 and U.S. 82 both serve the city, and Durant, Oklahoma, is about 31 miles away.
The economy has turned sharply toward semiconductors. Texas Instruments operates a $30 billion fabrication plant here, and GlobalWafers runs a $5 billion wafer factory. Tyson Foods is among the top employers, along with Coherent Corp., Austin College, Grayson County government and a range of industrial firms.

What a chip-plant economy means for suppliers and service firms
Plants of that size rely on outside companies for maintenance, electrical and mechanical work, staffing, freight and supplies. If you own one of those companies, buyers will look at what share of your revenue rides on a single plant, whether your contracts can transfer to a new owner, and whether the growth of the last few years is documented. Manufacturing is one of the firm's four core industries, and we know how buyers in that field read a supplier's books.
A typical sale of ours runs three to nine months, engagement letter to wire transfer. The fastest closed in eight days; the longest took eighteen months. Much of the difference comes down to preparation: records that reconcile, a clear account of who the customers are, and an owner ready to answer buyer questions quickly.
Working with a Metroplex firm from Grayson County
The firm covers North Texas from its base in the Metroplex, and for Grayson County owners an advisor comes up to you. Neither the first conversation nor the opinion of value costs anything, and the ten-step process runs from discovery meeting to closing; one of our principals is present whenever terms are negotiated.

Questions owners in Sherman ask
Will the Texas Instruments and GlobalWafers plants make my Sherman company worth more?
Only if the numbers show it. A buyer pays for profit it can check and believes will last. If your revenue has grown with the plants, we document where it came from, how much is under contract and how much depends on one customer. Growth that is explained raises interest; growth that is not raises questions.
Do buyers from the Metroplex look at companies as far north as Sherman?
Yes. Distance matters far less to buyers than earnings, customers and management. Private equity groups and individual buyers in Dallas–Fort Worth and from out of state look at Grayson County companies, and buyers from Oklahoma may take an interest too, given how close the state line is.
