Royse City business brokers and M&A advisors

Royse City grew from fewer than 3,000 residents in 2000 to 13,508 in 2020, and the service companies that grew with it can now be worth real money to buyers. MDR & Associates, a Metroplex firm headquartered in Frisco, helps owners sell a business in Royse City and represents the owner only, with advisors who can reach you along Interstate 30 without much of a drive.

A railroad town that became a bedroom community on I-30

The town dates to 1885, when the Missouri, Kansas and Texas line from Greenville to Dallas came through and G. B. Royse laid out and sold the first lots. It sits mostly in Rockwall County, with pieces in Collin and Hunt counties, about 33 miles from Dallas and 21 from Garland. Interstate 30, built just south of town in the mid-1960s, and State Highway 66 carry most of its traffic.

Today Royse City works largely as a bedroom community for Dallas and Greenville. Its own economy is made up of service businesses, restaurants, stores, schools and medical practices, and a Buc-ee's travel center opened in 2019. The state named it a Texas Main Street City in 2007. Between 2010 and 2020 the population went from 9,349 to 13,508.

What rapid growth does, and does not, do for your price

Owners in a growing town sometimes assume buyers will pay for the growth still to come. They will pay for some of it, but only the part your records can prove. A company that added customers every year since 2010, held its margins and hired people who stayed makes a strong case. A company whose revenue jumped while profit stood still invites hard questions about pricing and cost control.

That is why our work begins with the numbers, not a listing. We rebuild your last three years of statements into a recast that separates what the business earns from what you choose to spend through it, and we test the story buyers will hear against the facts they will check. Service firms, from bookkeeping and staffing to pest control and inspections, often draw the kind of buyers described on our business services page.

Our overview of how we sell your business walks through the full engagement, and the Dallas page covers the wider Metroplex market that Royse City commuters work in every day.

Questions owners in Royse City ask

Most of my customers moved to Royse City in the last ten years. Is that a risk for a buyer?

Not usually. Newer customers can be a strength if they keep coming back. Buyers will look at retention: how many customers from three years ago are still buying, and how often. If your records show that, a young customer base reads as growth rather than risk.

Would a Dallas or Greenville company want to buy a Royse City business?

It can make sense. Royse City sits between the two on Interstate 30, so a company based in either city may see an acquisition here as a way to reach more of the east side of the Metroplex without starting from scratch. We include strategic buyers like that alongside private equity groups and individual buyers.
