Rockwall business brokers and M&A advisors
MDR & Associates gives owners in Rockwall a sell-side team from the Metroplex: M&A advisors who represent the company's owner only and handle the sale from valuation to closing. Rockwall is about 20 miles northeast of Dallas across Lake Ray Hubbard, and we are glad to meet you there, at your business or at a table somewhere private.
A county seat named for a wall nobody built
Settlers digging wells in 1851 struck lines of naturally jointed sandstone that looked like masonry, and the town established on April 17, 1854 took its name from those rock walls. Rockwall belonged to Kaufman County until 1873, when Rockwall County was formed with the town as its seat. Today it sits on the eastern shore of Lake Ray Hubbard, reached by Interstate 30 and state highways 66, 205 and 276, and the 2020 census counted 47,251 residents.
Rockwall is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, and for a company based here that is the most useful fact about the market. A buyer does not have to be persuaded that the location works; the Metroplex customer base and highway access speak for themselves. What the buyer does need to be persuaded of is the company itself.

What makes a Rockwall company easier to sell
Across the companies we see, the same few things decide how much a buyer pays. Profit that is clearly documented, with personal expenses separated out. Revenue spread over many customers. A team that runs the daily work without the owner in every decision. And for a home services company such as HVAC, plumbing or roofing, a book of maintenance agreements and repeat customers.
Companies in the size band we handle usually change hands at three to seven times adjusted EBITDA. That is earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, after owner-specific costs are added back. Where your company lands inside that range depends on the factors above, and the first meeting tells you which of them are worth working on before you go to market.
Who you would be dealing with
MDR & Associates has been selling Texas companies since 2008 and counts more than 250 closed transactions and a success rate of better than 90 percent. In 2023 the firm was named to the Axial Advisor 100, which recognizes the lower middle market advisors and investment banks most often referred by buyers. If we doubt we can reach full value, we decline the engagement; when we accept one, the fee is due only at closing. Our sell-side service works the same way whether the owner is in Rockwall or in Dallas.

Questions owners in Rockwall ask
The likely buyers for my Rockwall company are in Dallas. How do you keep them from learning who I am too early?
Every buyer, local or not, starts with a summary that leaves out your name and anything that points to you. The company is identified only after the buyer signs a confidentiality agreement and shows it has the funds. For a Rockwall company, that screen matters most with Metroplex competitors who may already know your customers.
I own the building my Rockwall company operates from. Must the building be part of the sale?
No. Owners often hold on to the property and become the buyer's landlord, collecting rent after closing; others fold it into the sale. Buyers and lenders value the two separately, so we weigh both routes with your CPA and attorney before the company goes to market.
