Concrete, a Buc-ee's and a fast-rising population
The Houston and Texas Central Railroad reached Melissa in 1872, and the town was laid out around it, named for the daughter of railroad executive George A. Quinlan. It came through an F4 tornado on April 13, 1921, which killed 13 people, and a fire in 1929. Today U.S. 75, State Highways 5 and 121 and FM 545 serve the city, with Dallas about 40 miles away and Denison 37 miles north.
Melissa counted 13,901 residents in 2020, and the estimate for 2025 is 29,969. Its largest employers after the school district are Redden Concrete, Beam Concrete Construction, Buc-ee's and a North Texas Municipal Water District disposal facility.

Which Melissa companies fit what we sell
A city estimated to have more than doubled since 2020 is adding households, and households need their homes cooled, heated, plumbed, roofed, landscaped and kept free of pests. Trade companies with repeat customers, service agreements and trained crews are exactly what many buyers want, and our home services practice explains how they are valued.
We want to be plain about one limit: we do not represent general contractors or companies that live on project bids. If your company is a concrete or construction contractor, we will say so at the first meeting rather than take an engagement we cannot do well.
What a Melissa owner can expect from us
The firm works from a corporate office in Frisco and serves owners across the Metroplex. The first discovery meeting is free and confidential; after going over three years of financials we give you an opinion of value, and a formal business valuation is available separately if partners or a lender need one. Your company is shown to buyers through a blind profile, and each serious buyer signs a confidentiality agreement and proves funding before learning more. Companies north of McKinney are part of our Dallas–Fort Worth region coverage.

Questions owners in Melissa ask
Is my Melissa HVAC or plumbing company too new for buyers to consider?
Buyers generally want two to three years of records that reconcile and consistent profit. A young company growing with the city can still sell if it has that history and revenue in our range of roughly $3 million to $100 million. If it is not ready yet, we can tell you what to build before going to market.
Will a buyer see Melissa's growth as a reason to pay more for my company?
Growth in the market helps a buyer believe your revenue can keep rising, which supports value. But buyers pay mainly for what has already been earned. We show both: your historical results, recast to remove one-time items, and the evidence that demand around Melissa gives the business room to grow.
