Highland Park business brokers and M&A advisors
MDR & Associates acts as M&A advisors for Highland Park owners who want to sell a company without the news reaching the neighbors first. The town covers 2.24 square miles four miles north of downtown Dallas, and whether your business operates here or elsewhere in Texas, we meet you at your office or somewhere private.
A residential town with one famous piece of retail history
Highland Park is one of the Park Cities, bordered by Dallas on three sides and University Park to the north, between the Dallas North Tollway and North Central Expressway. John S. Armstrong began developing it in 1906, and landscape designers Wilbur David Cook and George E. Kessler laid it out with a fifth of the land set aside for parks. In 1931 Highland Park Village opened, described as the first shopping center of its kind in the United States. Dallas tried to annex the town from 1919 to 1945, and residents turned it down each time.
Strict zoning has kept the town much as it was planned. An owner living in a town of 8,864 people (2020 census) may well run a manufacturer, a distributor or a service company based across the Metroplex or farther away. The sale is judged by that company's earnings and its buyers, not by the address of the person who owns it.

Keeping a sale quiet among close neighbors
In a small community with a country club, shared parks and one well-known shopping village, a rumor can travel faster than a letter of intent. We market every company through a blind profile that describes the business without naming it. A buyer sees the name only after signing a confidentiality agreement and completing a financial profile that shows they can fund the deal. We contact our own database of individual buyers, capital groups and private equity firms first, and use blind listings on the major marketplaces only if more reach is needed. A business valuation can be done just as discreetly if you want a number before deciding anything.
Working with a Metroplex firm from the Park Cities
MDR & Associates is based in the Metroplex, with its corporate office in Frisco, and our advisors come to you. For owners whose company sits closer to downtown, our Dallas page covers that market in more detail. We take on profitable companies with $3 million to $100 million in revenue, a principal of the firm sits in every negotiation, and the fee is a success fee paid only if the sale closes. Our page on the wider Dallas–Fort Worth region explains how buyers look at companies across the Metroplex.

Questions owners in Highland Park ask
My company is outside Highland Park, but I live here. Can you keep the sale private from people in town?
Yes. Confidentiality depends on how the company is marketed, not on where it is located. Buyers first see a blind profile with no name, and they must sign an NDA and prove they can fund the purchase before learning more. You decide when family, staff and neighbors hear about it, and nothing is announced before then.
Would you meet me somewhere other than my business or my Highland Park home?
Of course. Plenty of owners prefer a first conversation away from employees and family. We can meet in a private room of your choosing or at our corporate office in Frisco. The first meeting is a free, confidential discovery session, and after we review three years of financials we give you an opinion of value as a low-to-high range.
