Mesquite business brokers and M&A advisors
MDR & Associates acts as M&A advisor for Mesquite owners who want to sell a company at full value, representing the seller alone. Mesquite sits east of Dallas where Interstates 30, 635 and 20 meet U.S. 80, and as a firm based in the Metroplex we can visit your company for a first conversation on short notice.
Rodeo town, mall pioneer, freight crossroads
Mesquite was founded on March 14, 1873, along the Texas & Pacific Railway line between Dallas and Shreveport, and it lived on cotton, hay, corn and sugar beets until the suburbs arrived after World War II. The Mesquite Rodeo started in 1946, and Big Town Mall, opened in 1959, was the first air-conditioned shopping mall in the United States. The 2020 census put the population at 150,108, the 21st-largest among Texas cities.
The biggest employers show a mixed economy. Mesquite ISD, Town East Mall, UPS, Canadian Solar and the City of Mesquite each employ 1,000 or more, followed by Pepsi Bottling, Dallas Regional Medical Center, Eastfield College, Walmart and Ashley Furniture. Mesquite Metro Airport has a 6,000-foot lighted runway, and part of the city extends into Kaufman County.

Four highways and what they mean to a buyer
A company that ships, stores or makes goods from a spot where four major highways meet has something buyers grasp quickly: reach. They will still test it, looking at freight costs, customer spread, the lease on the building and the condition of trucks and equipment. Our distribution page and manufacturing page set out what they check and how it affects price.
Every buyer starts with a blind profile. Your name follows only once a confidentiality agreement is signed and a financial profile is on file. We market to qualified buyers we already know before any anonymous public listing, and we pace the process so that several letters of intent arrive close together.
Working with a firm down the road
Our first meeting with you is free and private; by its end you have our opinion of value, built from three years of statements. Next we recast the financials, film the HD video and write the marketing package. One of our principals runs every negotiation, and we collect a fee only on a closed sale. Owners elsewhere in the Metroplex can browse the Dallas–Fort Worth region page.

Questions owners in Mesquite ask
My Mesquite company sells to big distribution and retail operations. Is that a concern for buyers?
Large customers help when the relationships are long, contracted and spread across several accounts. Buyers get cautious when one customer is a large share of sales. We show the history and terms of your key accounts so buyers can judge the risk from facts, and competing offers keep the pricing fair.
Can you meet me away from my business in Mesquite?
Yes. Since we are in the Metroplex too, meeting at your home, a private room or anywhere else discreet is easy. Buyers never see your name until they are bound by a signed confidentiality agreement and have shown that the money to close exists, so staff and customers stay unaware.
