Westlake business brokers and M&A advisors
MDR & Associates, based in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, helps you sell a company in Westlake, from the first opinion of value to closing. Westlake is a town of just 1,623 people that hosts large campuses for Charles Schwab, Fidelity Investments and Deloitte University. The firm's corporate office is in Frisco, and we are glad to come to you.
A ranch turned financial-services campus
The Medlin family settled the area in 1847, and the town incorporated in 1954. Much of it was once the 2,000-acre Circle T Ranch developed by oilman J. Glenn Turner, and that land made room for the corporate campuses that define Westlake today. Charles Schwab's campus covers about 1,160,000 square feet and employs more than 5,000 people. Fidelity Investments has a facility of similar size, Deloitte University is a $300 million learning center, and Sabre Corporation keeps its headquarters here.
The Plaza at Solana, designed by Ricardo Legorreta and first home to IBM, now holds more than 30 businesses and over 3,000 daytime workers. Goosehead Insurance moved 150 employees to Westlake in 2017, and the Entrada mixed-use development continues to add space. The town spans Denton and Tarrant counties and is served by State Highways 114 and 170, U.S. Route 377 and FM 1938.

Advisory, insurance and tech firms: what buyers weigh
If your firm does advisory, insurance, technology or consulting work, buyers will look at recurring fees, client retention, the contracts behind them and whether the key relationships belong to the company or to one person. Our business services team prepares that picture, and the firm has sold an insurance agency and other service companies in Texas.
Owners in these fields are often approached by larger firms. An outreach from a strategic buyer can be real, but a single bidder sets its own price. We create competition instead, with several qualified buyers and letters of intent negotiated side by side. In 2023 Axial named MDR & Associates to its Advisor 100, a list of the lower middle market advisors most referred by buyers.

Our compensation is entirely tied to results, paid at closing and never before, as the fees page describes. When you want to know more about how we sell a business, we are ready to talk.

Questions owners in Westlake ask
Can you sell a firm whose clients follow the owner personally?
Yes, with planning. Buyers pay more when client relationships are shared with a team, so we often recommend a transition period and written agreements that keep you involved for a set time. We explain how that affects price and terms before you commit to anything.
Do you work with companies that have offices in Westlake but operate across Texas?
Yes. We represent companies based in Texas or with Texas operations and yearly revenue of $3 million to $100 million. Where your office sits matters less than whether the company is profitable and its records reconcile.
