The founder on his experience, and on how a sale with MDR is actually run.
The firm
From the first Dallas office to Fort Worth, Frisco, Austin, Houston and San Antonio — selling Texas companies for maximum value.
250+ closed transactions
A principal of the firm is in every negotiation. The first conversation is with one of them, not with a salesperson.

5.0 from 43 Google reviewsMDR & Associates is a boutique mergers and acquisitions advisory firm. We represent owners of privately held Texas companies with $3 million to $100 million in annual revenue, most of them in manufacturing, home services, distribution and business services.
Boutique is a deliberate choice, not a size we have not outgrown. We take a limited number of engagements at a time so a principal of the firm is in every negotiation. If we do not believe we can sell your company for maximum value, we decline the engagement rather than list it.
We have closed more than 250 transactions since 2008, and we publish the companies whose owners agreed to be named, with the industry each one operated in. We would rather be judged on that than on a slogan.
These are the words the firm has used since it started, not a page we wrote for a website.
Our heartbeat
A message from our founder, in his words: “Our firm has a unique heartbeat and is unlike any other organization I have ever been a part of. We began during the worst M&A environment in fifty years. Banks simply were not lending, multiples were at rock bottom and seller financing was the new normal.”
“Today, our team serves clients with one verse in mind — Matthew 6:33. It is our heartbeat and it is why we do what we do. We don't apologize for it. We aren't ashamed of it. It's just who we are. Our team gives a portion of every success fee to meet needs in our local community and around the world. We cannot meet every need that exists. But we can meet one need of a widow, orphan or single mother today.”
— Michael D. Rubin, CEO and Founder
Affiliations and designations
Membership and designations in the associations that set standards for business brokers and M&A intermediaries.
The trade association of business brokers, providing education, conferences, professional designations and networking, with the mission of promoting members' professional development and public awareness of the profession.
The association of merger and acquisition intermediaries and advisors dedicated to the lower middle market: education, networking and mentoring for M&A practitioners.
The international organization serving the middle-market M&A profession, formed in 1998 to bring together CPAs, attorneys and corporate financial advisors — more than 1,100 professional services firms.
A designation developed by the faculty of the Coles College M&A Academy for intermediaries serving private middle-market companies and the owners preparing them for sale.
The only M&A designation that requires both educational credits and the successful completion of multiple transactions.

No cost, no obligation
Three short steps, and only the last one is required. The questions before it are what let an advisor come back with a real answer instead of a call asking for one.
Or call (855) 637-2776 and speak to somebody who has sold companies.

No cost, no obligation, and nothing leaves this office. Four fields, and an advisor comes back to you the same business day.
