Weatherford business brokers and M&A advisors
MDR & Associates works as M&A advisors for owners in Weatherford who want to sell a company quietly and for full value. Weatherford is the Parker County seat, 25 miles west of Fort Worth on Interstate 20, and like the rest of the Metroplex it is within easy reach of our firm, which is based in the region.
Peaches, cutting horses and a county seat on I-20
Weatherford was founded in 1854, when Methodist minister Pleasant Tackett arrived with fifteen pioneer families, and it was named for State Senator Thomas Jefferson Weatherford. The railroad reached town in June 1880. The Texas Legislature named the area the Peach Capital of Texas, Weatherford has been described as the cutting horse capital of the world, and the National Snaffle Bit Association has its headquarters here. Weatherford College, a community college with a 150-year history, and the Second Empire style Parker County Courthouse anchor the town. The 2020 census counted 30,854 residents.
Interstate 20 crosses the south side of the city toward Hudson Oaks and Fort Worth, and U.S. 180 runs through downtown toward Mineral Wells. For an owner, the question is less about the town's nicknames and more about who would buy a company based here. For a profitable business with $3 million to $100 million in revenue, the list usually includes private equity groups, capital groups, strategic buyers from Fort Worth or elsewhere in Texas, and qualified individuals. We approach our own database of those buyers before any blind ad appears on a marketplace.

What a Parker County sale looks like from the inside
Your company is presented through a confidential marketing package, a financial recast and a professionally produced HD video. The recast adjusts reported earnings for one-time costs and owner expenses so buyers see what the business really earns. Buyers must sign an NDA and complete a financial profile before they learn your name. We then work to bring in several letters of intent at once, because competition, not a single bidder, sets the price. A principal of the firm is in every negotiation, and our ten-step process shows the order of events from discovery to funds wired.

Questions owners in Weatherford ask
Will a buyer from Fort Worth or Dallas see a Weatherford company as too far out?
Usually not. Weatherford is 25 miles west of Fort Worth on I-20, which puts it inside the Metroplex for most buyers. What matters more is whether the company can run without you, how steady its earnings are, and whether key employees plan to stay after the sale.
My company serves the horse and agricultural economy around Weatherford. Can you sell it?
We represent profitable companies with $3 million to $100 million in revenue in manufacturing, home services, distribution and business services. If your company supplies, services or distributes to that economy and fits the range, the discovery meeting will tell us both whether we can sell it for full value. If we cannot, we will say so.
