Business owners in Terrell who are considering a sale can call MDR & Associates, whose M&A advisors are based in the Metroplex and represent sellers of profitable Texas companies. Terrell is about 32 miles east of Dallas, I-20 skirts the south side of town and U.S. 80 runs through the center, and an advisor will come out to you.
A Texas and Pacific town that trained RAF pilots
Terrell grew out of the Texas and Pacific Railroad line built through the area in 1873 and incorporated two years later. During World War II it was home to the No. 1 British Flying Training School, the first of six civilian flight schools in the United States set up to train Royal Air Force pilots. The city also has Terrell State Hospital, a 316-bed psychiatric hospital, as well as Southwestern Christian College and the Kaufman County campus of Trinity Valley Community College. The 2020 census counted 17,465 residents.
Terrell lies within the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, and a company here sits on two main routes east out of Dallas. For a buyer from the city or beyond, that makes a Terrell company easy to reach and easy to picture as part of a larger regional operation.

Getting ready to sell a company in Terrell
The work that raises a price is mostly done before buyers see anything. Three years of financial statements that match your tax returns. Personal and one-time expenses identified, so your true earnings are clear. Key customer relationships held by more than one person. Equipment lists and leases in order. Our founder, Michael D. Rubin, is the author of Sell Your Company for Maximum Value, and preparation of this kind is the first thing we talk through with an owner.
If you want an independent number before deciding, a business valuation is available separately. The opinion of value we give at the first meeting is free and comes as a range based on your own records.
How the sale itself is handled
Once engaged, we market the company confidentially to qualified buyers, ask each to prove its financing, and aim for more than one offer in the same window. Negotiation is handled by one of the firm's principals, and the full sell-side service covers due diligence, legal documents and closing, alongside your own attorney and CPA. The firm is based in the Metroplex, close to our Dallas work, and if the company does not sell, nothing is owed.

Questions owners in Terrell ask
Is Terrell close enough to Dallas that Metroplex buyers will take my company seriously?
Yes. Terrell is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metro, and buyers judge a profitable company on its earnings, customers and people rather than its ZIP code. A Terrell company with clean books competes for the same buyers as one closer in, and some buyers prefer a location with room to grow.
My business counts the hospital and colleges in Terrell among its customers. How do buyers view that?
Institutional accounts can be steady, but a buyer will ask how the work is awarded, when each contract comes up for renewal and whether new ownership needs sign-off. We collect those answers before going to market, so the risk is visible and the price credits the stability those customers bring.
