University Park business brokers and M&A advisors
MDR & Associates is a sell-side firm of M&A advisors for owners who live or work in University Park and want to sell a profitable company before anyone else hears about it. The city is a compact enclave of 25,278 people (2020 census), bordered by Dallas on three sides and by Highland Park to the south, and our firm is based in the same Metroplex, with its corporate office in Frisco at 1518 Legacy Dr.
A home address inside Dallas, a company that could be anywhere
University Park was incorporated in April 1924, when voters approved it by a five-to-one margin. It started with 515 acres, 380 homes and about 1,200 residents, and a $150,000 bond issue paid for water lines, paved streets, a city hall and a fire station. By 1945 more than 20,000 people lived here. Southern Methodist University, founded in 1915, the George W. Bush Presidential Center and the Meadows Museum, with the largest collection of Spanish art in the United States, all sit within the city limits.
An owner who lives here may run a company almost anywhere in the Metroplex: a distributor in an industrial park, an accounting or staffing firm downtown, a plant in a neighboring county. Buyers do not price the owner's zip code. They price the company's earnings, its customers and the people who will run it after you. For a profitable business with $3 million to $100 million in revenue, the serious bidders are private equity groups, capital groups, strategic acquirers and well-funded individuals. Owners of business services firms find that buyers ask first about repeat clients and whether the team stays.

Discretion in a close-knit enclave
The 2018 American Community Survey placed University Park as the second wealthiest city in the United States by median household income. In a small, well-connected community, a sale that becomes dinner-table talk can reach your employees and customers within days. We present your company to buyers only through a blind profile. Nobody learns its name until they sign a confidentiality agreement (an NDA) and submit a financial profile proving they can pay for it. We contact our own database of qualified buyers before any blind ad appears on a public marketplace, and you decide when staff, lenders and key customers are told.
Starting with a number, not a commitment
Most owners want to know what the company is worth before they decide anything. The first meeting is free and confidential, and after reviewing three years of financials we give an opinion of value as a low-to-high range. Our business valuation page explains the methods behind that range. Because the firm is based in the Metroplex, we can meet at your company, in Frisco, or somewhere quiet near SMU. A principal of the firm sits in every negotiation, and the fee is a success fee paid only if the company sells. For the wider city around you, see our Dallas page.

Questions owners in University Park ask
My company operates in Dallas, but I live in University Park. Does that change anything in the sale?
Not for buyers. The sale is organized around where the company operates, its records and its people. We meet wherever confidentiality is easiest, which is often away from the business entirely. Your home address never appears in the anonymous profile buyers see first, and nothing identifying reaches a buyer before an NDA is signed.
Can I sell my company without people in University Park finding out before I am ready?
Yes. Every buyer first sees an anonymous profile with no detail that would point to you. Each one must sign an NDA and prove financial capacity before learning more. Site visits are scheduled with you, often after hours, and you control the timing of every announcement to staff, customers and friends.
