Peanuts, then horses, then rooftops
Lemuel Noah Edwards, a Civil War veteran, founded Aubrey in 1867, and the Texas and Pacific Railway finished a track and station here in 1881. For generations the town was known for the peanut farms around it. By 2009, horse ranches surrounded Aubrey, and new houses had begun to replace the grounds of the old peanut farms.
The 2020 census counted 5,006 residents. Ranch land and new neighborhoods now sit side by side, and a company here may serve both.

Ranch and subdivision services: the buyer's checklist
New subdivisions and working ranches both need people who fix, build, maintain and supply. If your company installs and services HVAC systems, fences, irrigation, roofs or garage doors, buyers will look at repeat customers, maintenance plans, crews and equipment. Our home services practice has closed sales of landscaping companies such as Elite Landscape and Blooms Landcare, and seasonal revenue can be presented so a buyer trusts it.
An equestrian-related business, such as feed, tack, hauling or facility services, will draw buyers who care about customer loyalty and the owner's role. The more the business runs on systems rather than on your personal relationships, the easier it is to sell. Buyers will also ask whether customers are under written agreements or simply come back out of habit; both can work, but the first is easier to value.
Owners who have built a company alongside a ranch or family land should also separate the two clearly before a sale. Buyers want to know exactly which trucks, equipment, buildings and acreage come with the business and which stay with you.
A free first talk, then competing buyers
Talk to us first at your place of business or somewhere quiet; that meeting is free. Once we have three years of numbers in hand, you get a value range from low to high. When we sell a business, buyers see it only in anonymous form at first, and we bargain with several vetted buyers in parallel. We serve owners across Dallas–Fort Worth, and our fee comes due only if a sale closes. Most of our sales take three to nine months, and you keep running the business the whole time.

Questions owners in Aubrey ask
Can a horse-country business in Aubrey attract buyers from outside the area?
Yes, if it is profitable, earns $3 million or more in revenue and has records that reconcile. The buyers we call include individuals, capital groups and private equity groups. They look at earnings and customer loyalty far more than at the size of the town.
My revenue is seasonal. Will that lower my price?
Not if buyers can see the pattern is steady year after year. We show monthly results across several years so the seasonality looks predictable rather than risky. Unexplained swings are what cost owners money at the negotiating table.
