Mansfield business brokers and M&A advisors
MDR & Associates works as M&A advisors for owners in Mansfield who want to sell a manufacturing, distribution or service company for the best price the market will pay. Mansfield sits mostly in Tarrant County next to Arlington, and its largest employers include an electronics distributor, a tool maker and a cabinet manufacturer.
Mansfield's steam-powered start and its industrial present
Ralph Sandiford Man and Julian Feild built a grist mill at a crossroads here between 1856 and 1859, the first in North Texas to run on steam power, and the town took its name from their two surnames. It incorporated in 1890. Today Mansfield reaches into Ellis and Johnson counties as well as Tarrant, is served by State Highway 360 and U.S. 287, and lies about 20 miles from Fort Worth and 30 from Dallas. The 2020 census counted 72,602 residents.
The 2021 list of top employers reads like an industrial directory: Mouser Electronics with 2,067 people, Methodist Mansfield Medical Center with 1,428, Klein Tools with 733 and Hoffman Cabinets with 502. Texas Health Hospital Mansfield opened on December 1, 2020, adding a second hospital to the city.

Preparing a Mansfield plant or shop for buyers
Buyers of manufacturers come back to the same few things: gross margin by product, the age and condition of equipment, capacity to grow without new capital, customer concentration and whether skilled workers will stay. If you supply larger manufacturers, expect questions about how long those relationships have lasted and how orders are won. Our manufacturing practice covers what a buyer's due diligence will test, and we help you gather the answers before the first buyer asks.
Mansfield owners and the MDR process
We are a Metroplex firm with a corporate office in Frisco, and advisors come to Mansfield to meet you at your plant or somewhere discreet. Our ten-step process starts with a free discovery meeting and runs through buyer screening, multiple letters of intent, due diligence and closing, usually three to nine months in total. A principal of the firm is in every negotiation, and each offer is put to you in person so you can accept, reject or counter it. Our Dallas page covers the larger market to the northeast.

Questions owners in Mansfield ask
Will buyers of a Mansfield manufacturer want to keep my skilled workers?
Almost always. Skilled machinists, fabricators and supervisors are hard to replace, and buyers see them as part of what they are paying for. They will ask about wages, tenure and whether key people have agreements in place. We help you decide when to tell key staff and how to keep them through the sale.
Can MDR sell a Mansfield company that operates in both Tarrant and Johnson counties?
Yes. Buyers care about the whole operation, not the county line. A company with sites or customers in more than one county simply needs its revenue, leases and permits laid out clearly by location. We include that in the confidential marketing package so a buyer sees the full picture after signing a confidentiality agreement.
