Lewisville business brokers and M&A advisors
MDR & Associates acts as business brokers and M&A advisors for Lewisville owners, a Metroplex firm that represents the seller only. Lewisville has grown from a railroad stop on Holford's Prairie into a Denton County city of 111,822 people (2020 census) beside Lewisville Lake, and if you own a profitable company here, we can tell you what it is worth and who is likely to buy it.
Lake, interstate and airport: how Lewisville grew
Settlers called the area Holford's Prairie in the early 1840s, the railroad arrived in 1881, and the city incorporated in 1925. The Garza–Little Elm Dam was finished in 1954, creating Lewisville Lake on the city's edge, and the Elm Fork of the Trinity River runs through the area. Interstate 35E carries traffic north and south through the middle of town, and part of the city reaches into Dallas County.
Rapid suburban growth followed two openings: Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in 1974 and Vista Ridge Mall in 1989. The city now covers about 43 square miles, six of them water. Until 2013 it was also the temporary home of the George W. Bush Presidential Library.

Food distribution, dealerships and a service economy
Lewisville's larger employers include JPMorgan Chase, the Lewisville school district and Nationstar Mortgage. Food distribution has a real presence, with Sysco and Meadowbrook Meat Company here, and so do automobile dealerships such as Huffines and Village Auto Group. Responsive Education Solutions, a charter school operator, has its headquarters in the city, as do Adeptus Health and Texas–New Mexico Power. There are several landfills as well.
That mix matters to a buyer. A regional distributor with warehouse space near I-35E, a company that services fleets or equipment, or a business services firm with corporate clients on long contracts can each draw strategic buyers and private equity groups. Distributors in particular are judged on gross margin by product line, supplier terms and inventory accuracy. Our distribution practice goes further into what those buyers test in due diligence.
Planning the sale of your Lewisville company, step by step
Start with a realistic figure. At a free, confidential discovery meeting we go through three years of your financial statements and then give you an opinion of value, a low-to-high range. If partners, lenders or an estate plan call for a formal written report, a third-party business valuation is available as a separate service.
Then comes preparation. We build a financial recast that shows true earnings, write a confidential marketing package and produce an HD video of your company. Buyers see a blind profile first; they register, sign a confidentiality agreement and fill in a financial profile before learning your name. Our own database of qualified individuals, capital groups and private equity groups is the first place we look, with blind ads on the big marketplaces added only if needed.
Last comes the negotiation. We work to have several letters of intent in hand at once, present each offer to you in person, and keep a principal of the firm at the table through due diligence, legal documents and closing. The firm is based in the Metroplex, with its corporate office in Frisco, and advisors see you at your business or a discreet location. More about the steps is on our selling your business page, and the Dallas–Fort Worth region page covers the surrounding market.

Questions owners in Lewisville ask
Will a national food distributor be interested in buying a smaller Lewisville distribution company?
It might, particularly if your company brings customers, routes or product lines the larger firm wants. But national companies are only one kind of buyer. Private equity groups and individual buyers with industry experience also pay well for a distributor with steady margins, so we approach several kinds at once and let competition set the terms.
How do buyers treat a Lewisville company whose customers are mostly corporate offices along I-35E?
They look at how concentrated the revenue is and how secure the contracts are. Long agreements, renewal history and a spread of customers support a higher price. If one or two accounts dominate, we document the relationships carefully and may structure part of the price so that both sides share the risk.
Is Lewisville close enough for MDR & Associates to meet me in person?
Yes. We are a Metroplex firm, with our corporate office at 1518 Legacy Dr., Suite 220, in Frisco. Advisors meet Lewisville owners face to face, at the business or somewhere private away from employees, and a principal of the firm joins every negotiation once buyers are at the table.
