Graham business brokers and M&A advisors

MDR & Associates helps Graham owners sell a business through the same confidential, competitive process we run for companies in Dallas, and our advisors come to you. Graham is the Young County seat, a city of 8,732 in the Western Cross Timbers of North Texas. Oil found nearby in 1917 helped triple its population between 1900 and 1920, and the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association was founded here in 1877.

Ranching and oil in the Western Cross Timbers

The Graham brothers, working for the Texas Emigration and Land Company of Louisville, Kentucky, founded the town in 1871 and bought a saltworks the next year that never turned a profit. Early industry was a gristmill, a sawmill, a cotton gin and a brick kiln. Graham became county seat in 1874, rail service began in 1903, and local creeks drain toward the Brazos River.

Its town square is claimed to be the physically largest in the country. The city has a municipal airport with two paved runways and a North Central Texas College learning center that opened in 2010.

Selling a company in a county-seat town of 8,700

In a town this size the owner is often the face of the company, and buyers know it. They will want to see that customers buy from the business and not only from you, that a foreman or office manager can run the day, and that the books reconcile with the tax returns. We help owners put those pieces in place and then build a financial recast that shows what the business really earns.

Buyers of companies in oil country also study how revenue moved through past price swings. We present several years of results in the recast so a buyer can see how the company held up in slow years as well as busy ones, instead of pricing it off a single good year.

The firm concentrates on four kinds of company: makers, trade and home services firms, distributors and business services providers. If your company supplies or services the oil field, or supports ranching, you will get a straight answer in our first conversation about whether it fits and whether we think we can get maximum value for it. A formal business valuation is available as a separate service.

How we work with owners in Graham

We are based in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, and we travel to Graham to meet at your office, your home or a discreet location. Buyers come first from our own lists and then, if needed, from blind listings, and none learns your name before signing a confidentiality agreement. The fee is paid only at a successful closing; details are on our fees page. Nearby markets are on our region page.

Questions owners in Graham ask

Can a buyer finance the purchase of a Graham company with an SBA loan?

Often, yes. For companies at the smaller end of our range, individual buyers frequently use SBA or conventional bank financing, sometimes with part of the price carried by the seller. We help arrange those structures and check early that the company's records meet a lender's standards.

Is Young County too far from Dallas for your firm?

No. Our advisors come to owners across North Texas, and Graham is a drive, not a flight. Most of the work, from reviewing financials to preparing the marketing package and screening buyers, happens without you leaving town; you come to meetings only when buyers are ready to meet you.
