Littlefield business brokers and M&A advisors
Littlefield owners whose company brings in at least $3 million a year and who want to sell it can use MDR & Associates as their M&A advisor, working for the seller only. Littlefield is the Lamb County seat, northwest of Lubbock where U.S. 84 and U.S. 385 meet, and our advisors travel to you whenever a meeting needs to happen face to face.
Yellow Houses ranch land and cotton country
George Washington Littlefield bought the southern, or Yellow Houses, division of the XIT Ranch in July 1901 and founded the town in 1912. A year later it became a stop on the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway. The surrounding land on the Llano Estacado, just south of the Panhandle, is still a significant cotton-growing region, and Littlefield is known as the hometown of Waylon Jennings.
The 2020 census counted 5,943 residents. Lowe's Market, a grocery chain operating across the American Southwest, has its headquarters here. The American Cotton Growers denim plant closed in 2015, and in 2008 the town was picked as the site for a biodiesel plant. In an economy this size, the arrival or loss of one large employer is felt widely, and buyers notice that when they study a local company.

Handing off a company in a small cotton town
When no family member or manager is ready to take over, selling to someone outside the family is often the way to turn years of work into cash while keeping the company open for its employees and customers. The buyer may be an individual operator, a capital group or a private equity firm, and very often someone from outside Lamb County.
Buyers from Lubbock, Dallas or out of state will ask about the local workforce, how tied the company is to the cotton crop, and whether customers will stay after you step away. We build those answers into the marketing package and the financial recast. If your company stocks and sells goods, our distribution page shows what buyers look at in inventory, supplier terms and customer lists.
Getting started quietly
The online valuation snapshot gives you a rough range without talking to anyone. For a real opinion of value, we meet privately at no charge and work through three years of financial records with you. Buyers are approached with an unnamed profile, and your company's identity is shared only with buyers bound by a confidentiality agreement who have documented the ability to pay. We are paid only if the sale closes. Other plains towns are listed on our West & North Texas region page.

Questions owners in Littlefield ask
Does the closing of the denim plant hurt what a buyer will pay for my Littlefield company?
Only if it hurt your business. Buyers study your own results: revenue, margins and customers over several years. If the company held steady after 2015, that record shows resilience. If it dipped, we explain why and what changed. Either way, facts on paper outweigh general worries about a small market.
Can a sale stay confidential in a town of fewer than 6,000 people?
Yes, with care. No buyer sees your name before signing a confidentiality agreement and proving their funding, we meet you where you choose, and we plan with you when and how to tell employees. Most early work happens by phone and email rather than visits to your premises, so there is little for anyone to notice.
