Victoria business brokers and M&A advisors
MDR & Associates works as the M&A advisor for Victoria owners who want to value their company, find competing buyers and negotiate the sale. Victoria sits on the coastal plains just east of the Guadalupe River, about two hours from Houston, San Antonio and Austin, and the region's industrial employers include Formosa Plastics, Inteplast Group, Dow, Invista, Caterpillar and Alcoa. We come down to see you, at your office or anywhere you would rather talk.
Where three highways meet: Victoria's industrial and farm economy
Martín De León founded the town in 1824 as Guadalupe Victoria, named for the first president of Mexico, and after the Texas Revolution it became simply Victoria. By the mid-1800s it had a large population of European immigrants, especially Germans. The 2020 census counted 65,534 residents. Education, health care, retail, agriculture and petrochemicals drive the local economy, supported by Victoria College and Texas A&M University–Victoria.
Location is Victoria's advantage. U.S. 59 runs as an interstate-quality divided highway, U.S. 77 heads north, and U.S. 87 connects to San Antonio. The city also has a regional airport, rail terminals, the shallow-draft Port of Victoria and access to the deep-water Port of Port Lavaca–Point Comfort. That network suits distributors and service companies covering a wide territory, and it gives buyers from Houston, San Antonio and Corpus Christi a reason to look. Buyers of distributors weigh routes, inventory and supplier terms, as our distribution page describes.

A regional base and the buyers who want one
If your company serves a wide area from Victoria, buyers will want to see that coverage in numbers: revenue by county or town, drive times, how routes and crews are scheduled, and how many customers buy again each year. A regional company with loyal customers and a trained team can be a strong add-on for a larger operator that wants to reach this part of Texas without building from scratch. We make that case in the confidential marketing package and the HD video that goes with it.
Our process for owners in Victoria County
We begin by listening, in a free and confidential discovery meeting, and then set out a low-to-high opinion of value. Your identity stays behind the blind profile until a buyer signs an NDA and shows its financing. Competing letters of intent are negotiated together, and a principal of the firm sits with you as you decide on each offer. More on the region is on our Gulf Coast page, and the Houston page covers the nearest major market.

Questions owners in Victoria ask
Victoria is two hours from Houston, San Antonio and Austin. Which city's buyers are most likely?
Any of the three, plus Corpus Christi and out-of-state groups. Distance works in your favor when a company is the natural base for the region between those cities. We do not guess which buyer will pay most; we contact qualified buyers in all of those markets through our own database and let their offers compete.
Will buyers want my Victoria company if I plan to retire right after closing?
Yes, provided the company runs without you. Buyers want managers who handle customers, crews and day-to-day decisions. We help you show that before marketing, and we usually negotiate a short transition, a few weeks to a few months, during which you introduce the new owner to key customers and staff.
