Mission Bend business brokers and M&A advisors
Owners in southwest Houston's suburbs who want to sell a business in Mission Bend can hire MDR & Associates to represent them, and only them, in a confidential sale with several buyers competing. Mission Bend straddles the Fort Bend and Harris county line along State Highway 6, about four miles northwest of Sugar Land's city hall, and we come to you there.
A 1980s community inside Houston's reach
Mission Bend began in the early 1980s and grew through that decade, reaching 24,945 residents by 1990. By 2000 many residents commuted to Houston, and after 2000 the city of Houston carried out a limited-purpose annexation that reduced the area of the census-designated place. Mission Bend lies within Houston's extraterritorial jurisdiction, about 20 miles southwest of downtown, covers 4.9 square miles, and counted 36,914 people in 2020.
Because the area grew as a place where commuters live, the companies based here tend to be service businesses run from an office or yard nearby that work across Fort Bend County and west Houston: trades serving homeowners, contractors' suppliers, staffing, insurance, bookkeeping and similar firms. Some of those companies are family-owned and have never been through an outside review, which is where preparation starts.

What Houston-area buyers look for in a service company
Buyers of residential trade companies, including private equity groups building regional platforms, focus on recurring revenue: maintenance agreements, repeat customers, membership plans and the size of the service area. They also check the technicians' licenses, how calls are dispatched, and how much of the business depends on the owner answering the phone. Our home services page explains what earns a higher price. Alliance Mechanical Services and Apple Garage Doors are among the home services companies the firm has sold.
For professional and office-based firms, buyers look at client retention, contract terms and whether the staff who serve clients would stay. The business services page covers that side.
How we start
An advisor comes to you, at the office or at a quiet place nearby. After a look at three years of your financials, you receive an opinion of value; none of it is billed. Buyers from Houston, other states and private equity are all within reach. Our Houston page describes the metro market, and the Gulf Coast page the wider region.

Questions owners in Mission Bend ask
My Mission Bend company works all over Fort Bend County and west Houston. Does its base matter to buyers?
Very little, as long as the service area is well defined and profitable. Buyers ask how far crews travel, how routes are organized and how many customers are within reach. A base near Highway 6 with access to both counties can be presented as an operating advantage.
Will a buyer want to move my Mission Bend company once it is sold?
Some might, particularly a larger company combining several locations. That is one of the terms we discuss with each buyer, alongside what happens to your employees and your lease. If keeping the team in place matters to you, we weigh it when comparing offers.
