Dayton business brokers and M&A advisors
Dayton sits three miles west of the Trinity River, where U.S. 90 meets the Grand Parkway, and anyone planning to sell a business in Dayton can hand the work to MDR & Associates, a firm that represents sellers only. Our advisors come from Frisco to you, at your business or somewhere private.
West Liberty, a fire and a crossroads east of Houston
Dayton was founded in 1831 as West Liberty, across the river from Liberty itself. It incorporated in May 1911, gave up its charter that August after a fire, and incorporated again on November 28, 1925. The 2020 census counted 8,777 residents, and the city belongs to the Houston metropolitan area.
Roads are Dayton's strength. U.S. Highway 90 runs west toward Crosby and Houston and east toward Beaumont and Louisiana. State Highway 146 connects to Baytown, State Highway 321 to Cleveland, and Farm to Market Road 1960 to Humble, Huffman and north Houston. The Grand Parkway, State Highway 99, crosses U.S. 90 here. Four miles north of downtown, the state operates three prison units, Hightower, Henley and Plane, and a state parole office is in the city.

What we look at first in a Dayton company
With highways reaching Houston, Baytown and Beaumont, a Dayton company can serve customers well outside the city, and that spread helps. A buyer will want to know how far your crews or trucks travel, how much revenue comes from each area, and whether the business depends on a few large accounts, such as institutional contracts, or on hundreds of smaller ones. A company with steady revenue from several directions is also easier for a buyer to finance, which widens the pool of people who can afford it.
We turn those answers into numbers in a recast of your financials, then set a range, and our business valuation page explains the methods. When you decide to go ahead, we present the company to buyers without naming it, require each one to sign an NDA and document the money behind the offer, and bring several offers to the table. Buyers already active in Greater Houston are a natural audience; our Houston page covers that market, and towns around it are on the Gulf Coast region page. The ten steps, from first meeting to wire, are laid out on our process page.

Questions owners in Dayton ask
Does the Grand Parkway make my Dayton company worth more?
Not automatically. Better road access can widen the area a company serves and make it easier for a Houston buyer to run, but value comes from earnings, customers and people. We mention the location where it helps, and we let the financial record carry the price.
Would a company from Baytown or Beaumont be a good buyer for my Dayton business?
Possibly. A company already serving the east side of Houston or the Beaumont area may see your business as a way to extend its reach along U.S. 90. Strategic buyers like that can pay well, but they are also competitors, so we control what they see and when, keeping customer lists and pricing back until late.
