Orange business brokers and M&A advisors
Orange owners who want an M&A advisor working only for them can rely on MDR & Associates to run a confidential sale with several buyers competing. Orange is the easternmost city in Texas, on the Sabine River at the Louisiana line, with Interstate 10 running through town and Houston 113 miles away. Our advisors travel to Orange to meet you, at your office or a private location.
Sawmills, shipyards and chemical plants on the Sabine
Orange was founded in 1836 and grew quickly in the late 1800s as a lumber center with 17 sawmills. The harbor was dredged in 1914 so large ships could reach it, and shipbuilding during World War I brought more growth. During World War II, 300 ships of various types were built in Orange, starting with the USS Aulick, and a Naval Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility followed after the war. Today chemical plants are the leading source of revenue, and the deep-water port connects the city to the Gulf of Mexico. The 2020 census counted 19,324 residents.
Companies that fabricate, weld, maintain equipment or supply the chemical plants and the port are the kind of industrial business that strategic acquirers and private equity funds track. Long relationships with plant customers, trained crews and clean safety records are what those buyers pay for, and they are worth documenting well before a sale. If yours is one, our manufacturing page explains what those buyers review first.

Selling a company on the state line
If your company serves customers on both sides of the Sabine, buyers will want to understand that mix: which revenue comes from Texas, which from Louisiana, and what licenses, permits and tax filings each state requires. Clear records on those points remove a common source of delay in due diligence. We gather them before marketing, so buyers see a tidy picture rather than a list of open questions.
Meeting, valuing and marketing an Orange company
You start with a free, private discovery meeting, and we follow it with an opinion of value. No buyer sees your name before signing an NDA and proving funding, and every company we represent goes to market with a confidential package, a financial recast and a professionally produced HD video. A principal of the firm attends each negotiation, and the success fee applies only if a buyer closes. Our Houston page describes the broader buyer pool, and the Gulf Coast page covers the region.

Questions owners in Orange ask
Will a Louisiana buyer be interested in my Orange company?
It is possible, and we include out-of-state strategic buyers in the search when they fit. A company that already serves customers near the Sabine can give a Louisiana firm a Texas foothold without starting from scratch. The goal is several interested buyers at once, from wherever they are, so competition sets the price.
My Orange company depends on a few chemical plant contracts. Can I still get a good price?
Yes, if the contracts are documented and the relationships do not rest only on you. Buyers will want renewal history, safety records and the managers responsible for each account. We present that information up front, and competing offers limit how much any single buyer can discount for concentration.
