Lindale business brokers and M&A advisors

Lindale owners who have built a profitable company and want to sell it can turn to MDR & Associates, a Texas M&A advisor working only for sellers. Lindale is part of the Tyler metropolitan area in Smith County, and our advisors come to you in East Texas, meeting at your business or somewhere out of sight.

A railroad town in the Tyler metro

Lindale's start came from the railroad. After the Civil War, Richard B. Hubbard, who owned a large plantation where the gated community of Hideaway Lake now sits, persuaded railroad officials to lay track between Tyler and Mineola so he could ship his produce. His brother-in-law, Elijah Lindsey, saw the growth coming and opened the first general store in 1871, and a year later he was elected the first mayor. The town incorporated in 1905.

Lindale still calls itself the Blackberry Capital of the World, and U.S. Route 69 runs through town as Main Street. The 2020 census counted 6,059 residents, and its place in the Tyler metropolitan area ties the town to the larger East Texas economy.

Keeping a sale private in a small East Texas town

In a town of about six thousand, news that an owner is selling travels fast, and employees and customers can react before anything is settled. So we protect the name from day one. A buyer's first look is an unnamed profile. Nothing more is shared until that buyer registers, signs a nondisclosure agreement and submits a financial profile, and we work through buyers already in our own database before considering blind ads on national marketplaces.

The same care applies to meetings. We can meet you after closing time, in Tyler or at your home, and we help you plan the moment you tell key employees. Our sell-your-business page sets out what we handle and what stays with you.

Costs, timing and the first conversation

The discovery meeting is free and confidential; we look over three years of financial statements and tell you the range of value we expect. A sale then typically runs three to nine months, start to wired funds. Our fee is paid on success alone, when and if the company sells, and our fees page explains how it is structured. Nearby towns across the Piney Woods are on our East Texas region page.

Questions owners in Lindale ask

Will buyers come to Lindale to look at my company?

Serious ones will. Buyers who acquire companies with $3 million or more in revenue expect to visit before closing, and the Tyler area is familiar ground for many Texas buyers. We handle most early screening from a distance using the marketing package and HD video, so only qualified buyers make the trip.

What do buyers look for in an East Texas company like mine?

Steady earnings, records that reconcile, revenue spread over many customers, and people who can run things without you. If your company is in home services, distribution, manufacturing or business services, those are the industries we know best, and in the first meeting we can tell you how buyers are likely to see it.
