La Grange business brokers and M&A advisors
When a La Grange owner is ready to sell a business, MDR & Associates can run the whole sale, from valuation and buyer search to negotiation and closing, while keeping it private. La Grange is the seat of Fayette County, in the Colorado River valley where State Highway 71 meets U.S. 77, and our advisors come to you for every meeting.
Fayette County's crossroads, an hour from Austin
La Grange is about an hour's drive east of Austin: 64 miles by Highway 71, with Houston 101 miles away via Highway 71 and I-10. U.S. 77 runs through the center of town as Jefferson Street, leading 20 miles north to Giddings and 16 miles south to Schulenburg, and Columbus and Interstate 10 lie 26 miles to the southeast. The 2020 census counted 4,391 residents.
German and Czech immigrants shaped the town after 1848. One of them, Heinrich Kreische, began building a brewery in 1860 that by 1879 was the third-largest brewing operation in Texas; it is now preserved, together with Monument Hill, as a state historic site.

Why a small-town company can still draw big-city buyers
No one knows La Grange's local economy better than an owner who has built a company there. What we can speak to is the buyer side. A profitable company between Austin and Houston is visible to buyers in both, and the ones most likely to pay full value are often newcomers to the state, investor groups and private equity funds that do not yet know the town. They hear about your company through us, not through local rumor.
Each reviews a blind profile, then signs an NDA and submits a financial profile before anything more is shared. We aim to have several letters of intent in hand at once, because competition, not a single buyer's opening number, sets a fair price. Our sell-side service and the ten steps behind it are described in detail, and our Central Texas overview lists the other county seats we visit. You will not be charged for the first meeting or the opinion of value.
The method behind the sale
Our founder, Michael D. Rubin, set out the approach in his book, Sell Your Company for Maximum Value: prepare the company, keep the sale confidential, create competition among qualified buyers and negotiate every term, not only the price. That is the method a La Grange owner gets, with a principal of the firm in the room for each negotiation and your own attorney and CPA working alongside us.

Questions owners in La Grange ask
Who buys a company based in La Grange?
Often someone who is not from Fayette County. Buyers include individuals relocating to Texas, owners of larger companies expanding between Austin and Houston, and private equity or capital groups. We screen each one for funding before they see anything identifying, so the only buyers who learn about your company are ones who can actually close.
Will I have to tell my staff while my La Grange business is on the market?
No. You keep running the company normally, and staff learn about a sale when you decide. Buyer visits are scheduled after hours or framed as ordinary meetings, and documents move through a secure data room. Keeping results steady during the sale protects the price.
