Ingleside business brokers and M&A advisors

Ingleside's large employers build offshore platforms and run an energy center, and the smaller companies that support that work can be valuable to the right buyer. MDR & Associates is the M&A advisor Ingleside owners can hire to find that buyer, representing the seller only. We send an advisor from Frisco down to San Patricio County to meet you.

From naval station to platform yard and energy center

Ingleside was home to Naval Station Ingleside until the Base Realignment and Closure Commission voted on August 24, 2005, to close it, and in 2010 the main property passed to the Port of Corpus Christi. The city, mostly in San Patricio County with small parts in Nueces County, had 9,519 residents at the 2020 census and belongs to the Corpus Christi metro area. Ingleside ISD serves most of the city, and Del Mar College is the community college for the area.

Today the large employers are industrial. Kiewit Offshore Services, founded here in 2001, runs a 500-acre facility that builds and repairs offshore oil and gas platforms for the Gulf of Mexico, and it employed more than 1,700 people in 2024, about 1,400 of them craft workers. Enbridge operates the Ingleside Energy Center, where Enbridge and Yara have proposed a low-carbon ammonia plant, with production anticipated for 2027 to 2028.

What buyers look for in a coastal fabrication or supply company

A machine shop, fabricator, crane or rigging service, industrial supplier or staffing firm that works for a platform yard or an energy site has something buyers want: specialized skills and customers that are hard to win. Buyers will also look closely at concentration, because one yard can easily account for most of a small company's revenue, and at safety records, certifications and the craft workers who do the job.

We handle those questions before a buyer does. The recast separates one-off project revenue from recurring work, the marketing package shows contract history without naming customers, and our HD video shows the shop and the people. Then we contact qualified buyers from our database under NDA and push for competing offers. Our manufacturing page explains how production companies are valued, and our process page lists the ten steps from start to wire. Other communities around the bay appear on our South Texas region page.

Questions owners in Ingleside ask

My Ingleside shop does most of its work for one platform yard. Can it sell?

Yes, though a buyer will discount for that dependence. Buyers want to see how long the relationship has lasted, whether work comes under a master agreement or job by job, and what other customers you have. If there is time before a sale, adding even a few other accounts can raise what buyers will pay.

Will the planned ammonia plant change what my Ingleside company is worth?

Only once it appears in your numbers. A buyer pays for earnings already on the books, not for projects that may bring work later. If you already hold contracts tied to the energy center, we show them clearly. Otherwise we value the company on its record and describe the local outlook factually.
