A billion barrels, a vacuum plant and a waste facility

Oil built Andrews. After Deep Rock Oil Company drilled the first well in 1929, Andrews County became one of the major oil-producing counties in Texas, with more than a billion barrels produced. The town incorporated on February 2, 1937, named for Richard Andrews, the first Texan soldier to die in the Texas Revolution.

The economy has other pillars too. In 1972 the Kirby Company opened its first vacuum cleaner factory outside Ohio here, and it employs about 200 people. Waste Control Specialists runs a radioactive waste disposal facility with about 130 employees. U.S. 385 and State Highways 115 and 176 serve the city, along with Loop 1910, a city-owned bypass opened in 2013. Andrews had 13,487 residents in 2020 and belongs to the Midland–Odessa region.

Selling a Permian Basin company through the oil cycle

Buyers for oilfield service, trucking, rental and fabrication companies know that earnings rise and fall with drilling activity. They do not expect a flat line; they expect an honest one. We present several years of results, separate one-time jobs from recurring work, and show how the company managed costs and kept crews in slow years. Buyers also look at equipment age, safety records and how many operators you work for. A formal business valuation can set a defensible range before you decide.

Manufacturers and other non-oil companies in Andrews are valuable partly because they balance the cycle. For those sales, our manufacturing practice explains what buyers expect.

What an engagement looks like

Frisco is where the firm keeps its headquarters; the meetings, though, take place out here in West Texas. A first conversation is free and stays private. With three years of your financials in hand, we come back with a low and a high estimate of what the company should bring. Should we take the engagement, the next steps are a written marketing package and an HD video, outreach to vetted buyers bound by NDAs, and a push for several letters of intent at the same time. The West and North Texas region page covers the wider market.

Questions owners in Andrews ask

Should I sell my Andrews oilfield company at the top of the cycle?

Selling in a strong market can help, yet a buyer judges the whole run of recent years rather than a single high point. A company that stayed profitable in slower times often earns more buyer confidence. We review your recent history, tell you what the market is likely to pay now and explain whether waiting is likely to make a meaningful difference.

Do buyers worry that most of my Andrews customers are oil operators?

They will ask about it. What reassures them is serving several operators, long relationships, good safety scores and a crew that will stay. Any work outside oil and gas helps as well. We present the customer mix clearly so buyers weigh it fairly instead of assuming the worst.
