Uvalde business brokers and M&A advisors
For an Uvalde owner planning an exit, MDR & Associates works as your M&A advisors, marketing the company privately and negotiating terms on your side. Uvalde sits where U.S. 90 crosses U.S. 83, 80 miles west of downtown San Antonio, and the drive out to see you is ours to make.
A crossroads town in ranch and honey country
Reading Wood Black founded the town as Encina in 1853, and it took the name Uvalde in 1856 when the county was organized. It is the county seat and the main city of the Uvalde micropolitan area, with 15,217 residents in 2020. From here U.S. 90 runs west 39 miles to Brackettville and east 22 miles to Sabinal, U.S. 83 runs south to La Pryor and north to Leakey, and State Highway 55 heads northeast toward Camp Wood and Rocksprings. The Mexican border is 54 miles away.
Uvalde has produced huajillo honey, a mild, light-colored honey, since the 1870s, and Uvalde County is known as one of the best white-tailed deer hunting areas anywhere. Southwest Texas Junior College and a Sul Ross State University campus share the Garner Field site, named for John Nance Garner, the Uvalde resident who served as vice president from 1933 to 1941.

What a buyer sees in a regional trade center
A city at the meeting point of two U.S. highways often serves a wide area around it, and many Uvalde companies sell to ranches, farms, contractors and households spread across several counties. Buyers like a wide customer base but want proof that it is loyal: how long accounts have been active, what share comes from repeat orders and how deliveries and service are covered across that distance. Supply houses and wholesalers fit our distribution practice, where route coverage, inventory control and supplier terms shape value.
Seasonal businesses tied to hunting or agriculture need a clear monthly record, and owners who hold key supplier relationships personally should start introducing a manager to those contacts well before a sale.
How we handle the sale for an Uvalde owner
Our firm is headquartered in Frisco, and Uvalde meetings happen on your ground. Once we have held a free, private discovery meeting and read three years of your statements, you get our low and high estimate of value. Buyers, many of them in the San Antonio area, see a profile without your name until they sign an NDA and prove funding. Our San Antonio page explains how we reach buyers there, and the fees page explains our success fee, which you owe only if the company sells.

Questions owners in Uvalde ask
Are buyers willing to take on a company as far west as Uvalde?
Yes, when the earnings are steady and the business does not depend entirely on the owner. Distance from San Antonio matters less than a capable manager, loyal customers and clean records. Some buyers want to live in a smaller town; others will run the company through a local team. We bring both kinds into the process.
My Uvalde business depends on hunting season. How do buyers value that?
They value the full year, not the peak. Three years of monthly revenue and costs, cash reserves for slow months and repeat customers who book season after season make seasonality predictable. Predictable earnings get priced fairly; a pattern a buyer cannot see gets discounted.
