Where five highways meet near the center of Texas
U.S. 87, 190, 283 and 377 and State Highway 71 all pass through Brady, and Brady Creek runs through town. The railroad shaped the place early: when the Fort Worth and Rio Grande Railway arrived in 1903, Brady became a principal shipping point for Central Texas, and the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe followed in 1912. During World War II, Curtis Field opened here as a pilot-training school.
The economy grew from stock raising and ranching, with farms producing poultry, sheep, goats, cotton and pecans. A mohair-combing plant and sand-mining operations have also been part of local industry. The 2020 census counted 5,118 residents.

Sand, mohair and machinery: what a McCulloch County buyer checks
Companies tied to sand, agriculture or processing are judged on equipment, contracts and the reliability of demand. A buyer will want to see the condition and value of machinery and vehicles, how long key customer agreements run, and how earnings held up across good and bad years. Getting those documents in order before going to market saves weeks in due diligence and protects the price.
Buyers for companies like these include strategic acquirers in the same trade, individuals who want to own and run an operating business, and private equity groups looking to build a platform. We have sold manufacturing and distribution companies across Texas and know how each type of buyer reads a set of books.
Our approach for Brady owners
We are a sell-side firm: we represent you, not the buyer. The first meeting is free and confidential, and we can hold it at your place of business or anywhere you prefer. From there, our process covers the engagement letter, the marketing package and video, buyer screening, competing letters of intent, due diligence and closing. A principal of the firm takes part in every negotiation, and each letter of intent is reviewed with you face to face. A typical sale takes three to nine months, and you pay nothing unless the company sells; the fee structure is explained before you sign anything.

Questions owners in Brady ask
Do buyers treat a sand or mining company in Brady differently from other businesses?
Yes, in a few ways. They look closely at permits, remaining reserves or supply, equipment condition and environmental records, alongside the usual review of earnings and customers. Having those files organized before buyers see them keeps due diligence moving and gives them fewer reasons to lower an offer late in the deal.
Can a Brady company attract buyers from outside Central Texas?
It can. A company's location matters less to serious buyers than its customers, margins and records. Our first calls go to the buyers in our own database, from private equity and capital groups to individuals, a list that reaches well beyond McCulloch County; blind marketplace listings come later, if at all.
