Bangs business brokers and M&A advisors
For an owner in Bangs, MDR & Associates is a sell-side firm that finds qualified buyers for profitable companies and runs the sale from the first meeting to wired funds. Bangs sits on U.S. 67 and 84 in Brown County, between Brownwood and Santa Anna, and our advisors come out to meet you there rather than asking you to travel to our Frisco office.
A railroad town on the Brownwood–San Angelo line
Bangs grew up around a railroad depot opened in 1886 on the tracks running from Brownwood to San Angelo, and it takes its name from Samuel Bangs, a printer during the Texas Revolution. When the town incorporated in 1915 it counted about 600 residents and 21 businesses. U.S. Highway 67 was built through town in 1937, and the 2020 census counted 1,540 people.
A place this size does not publish a long list of large employers, and we will not pretend otherwise. If you own an established trade, supply or service company here, the buyers who matter are unlikely to be your neighbors, and that shapes how the sale should be run.

Selling a business in Bangs without the whole town knowing
In a small community, word that a company is for sale can unsettle employees and invite competitors to call your customers. We keep your name out of it. Buyers first see a blind profile; before they learn more, they register, sign a nondisclosure agreement and submit a financial profile proving they can pay for what they are buying. We approach our own database of individual buyers, capital groups and private equity firms before anything else.
The strongest buyer for a Brown County company may well live in Austin, Dallas–Fort Worth or another state, and that buyer will want three years of records that reconcile. Companies in home services, such as HVAC, plumbing and landscaping, are one area where the firm has a long record of sales across Texas.
What working with us looks like from Bangs
We represent sellers with $3 million to $100 million in annual revenue whose books cover at least two to three years. The first conversation is free: we look at your financials and give you a low-to-high opinion of value. If we do not believe we can sell your company for its full value, we will say so and decline the engagement. When we do take it on, our fee is paid only at closing, and there is nothing to pay if the company does not sell. It is how we cover all of Central Texas: the advisor makes the drive, not the owner.

Questions owners in Bangs ask
Is a company in a town of 1,500 people too small for an M&A advisor?
It depends on the company, not the town. We look at revenue, profit and records. If your business brings in $3 million or more a year, makes money and has clean books, buyers will judge it on its earnings and customers wherever it is based. If it is smaller than that, we will tell you plainly at the first meeting.
Will buyers want me to stay on after selling my Bangs company?
Often, for a transition period. A buyer from outside Brown County values your relationships with customers and suppliers, and a few months of handover protects them. How long you stay, and whether you are paid for it, is negotiated as part of the deal. We raise it early so every offer can be compared on the same terms.
