San Benito business brokers and M&A advisors
MDR & Associates helps San Benito owners sell a company without fanfare and at a competitive price, acting as seller-side M&A advisors. San Benito, the Resaca City, sits on Interstate 69E between Harlingen and Brownsville, and we meet you there at your business or wherever you prefer.
An irrigated town on the Resaca de los Fresnos
Before 1906, the land around San Benito was dry brush country covered in mesquite and cactus. The railroad arrived on July 4, 1904, and an irrigation system completed in 1906 turned the area into new farmland, letting San Benito and its Rio Grande Valley neighbors serve a growing agricultural district. The Resaca de los Fresnos, a former river channel about 400 feet wide that runs through the city, now serves as the main canal of a large irrigation system, which is how the town earned its nickname.
The climate brings hot, dry summers and mild winters, allowing crops to grow year round and drawing winter visitors and retirees. San Benito had 24,861 residents in 2020. It lies in Cameron County, six miles southeast of Harlingen and 19 miles northwest of Brownsville along I-69E, within the Brownsville–Harlingen–Raymondville and Matamoros–Brownsville metropolitan areas.

Which San Benito companies draw buyers, and why
Two parts of the local story matter to buyers. Farm country supports companies that sell, repair and move equipment, parts and supplies. And long, hot summers keep air conditioning, plumbing and repair crews busy, while retirees and seasonal residents create steady demand for home and property services. Companies in those trades, with repeat customers and trained technicians, are the heart of our home services practice.
Buyers for a company in Cameron County will ask how dependent revenue is on the season, how long technicians have stayed and whether service agreements renew. We gather those answers before marketing starts and set them out in a recast of your earnings, so a buyer's first impression is a clear one.
The steps, from Frisco to the Valley
Our headquarters is in Frisco, and we plan the Valley trip around your schedule. The first meeting is free. You then see our ten-step process from the inside: an engagement letter, a confidential offering book and a professionally filmed HD video, screened buyers who have signed an NDA, meetings, competing letters of intent, due diligence and a closing with funds wired. We handle only a limited number of companies at once, and our fee depends entirely on a completed sale. For nearby towns, see the South Texas region overview.

Questions owners in San Benito ask
Does the seasonal pattern of my San Benito business hurt its value?
Not if it is explained. Buyers understand seasonal swings; what worries them is a pattern they cannot see. Three years of monthly figures, a clear view of cash needs in slow months and a record of service agreements that renew each year allow a buyer to value the business on real earnings rather than on a single weak quarter.
Can you sell an agricultural supply or equipment company in San Benito?
Yes, provided it is profitable, sits inside our revenue range of $3 million to $100 million and has books that reconcile. Buyers look closely at inventory, supplier agreements, dealer terms and customer concentration among large growers. We help you document those items so they support the price rather than becoming reasons to lower it.
