Leander business brokers and M&A advisors

MDR & Associates helps owners sell a company in Leander through a confidential, competitive process with a principal of the firm in every negotiation. Leander sits at the junction of RM 2243 and U.S. 183, about 22 miles northwest of downtown Austin, and our advisors come to you rather than asking you to travel.

From 1882 railroad town to rail terminus

Leander was established in 1882 on land sold by the Austin and Northwestern Railroad and named for Leander 'Catfish' Brown, one of the railroad officials who finished the line. The rail link still matters: Leander Station is the northern terminus of the Capital MetroRail Red Line. The city straddles Williamson and Travis counties, Georgetown is five miles east on RM 2243, and the population climbed from 26,521 in 2010 to 59,202 in 2020. Leander was the fastest-growing city in the United States between 2018 and 2019.

For a business owner, a rail terminus and a U.S. highway junction mean customers and employees can reach you from across the northwest side of the metro.

What that growth means for a buyer

A city that more than doubled in a decade keeps electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, roofers, pest control and garage door companies busy, the trades that make up our home services work. Buyers like those companies for their repeat customers. They also check whether revenue depends on new construction that could slow, and whether the owner is still the one who wins every job. Growth brings new competitors as well, and a buyer will compare your prices and reviews with theirs.

We answer those questions in a recast of your financials and a confidential marketing package, then go first to our database of qualified buyers. Offers arrive as letters of intent, ideally several at once, and each one is presented to you in person. A buyer who needs financing can use an SBA loan, a conventional loan or a seller note, and we help arrange the structure that gets the deal closed. The whole route, from first meeting to closing, is on our selling page.

Leander and the Austin market

Buyers treat Leander as part of Greater Austin, and many of them are already looking there. Read our Austin page for the wider metro picture. There is no charge for the opening meeting or the opinion of value, and no fee unless the company sells.

Questions owners in Leander ask

Does Leander's growth raise what my company is worth?

Only through your own results. Buyers pay for earnings they can count on, so a growing market helps if your revenue, margins and backlog show you are capturing it. We tie the growth story to your numbers, which is far more persuasive to buyers than population figures on their own.

Will a buyer of my Leander company keep my crew?

Many buyers want exactly that, because trained people are hard to find. We ask about employee plans early, weigh them when comparing offers and can negotiate retention terms into the deal. You decide what matters most, and we look for buyers whose plans match it.
