Cedar Park business brokers and M&A advisors

If you plan to sell a business in Cedar Park, MDR & Associates provides owner-side M&A representation: valuation, confidential marketing, competing offers and a principal at every negotiation. Cedar Park is a Williamson County suburb about 16 miles northwest of downtown Austin, along U.S. 183 and the 183A Toll Road, and we meet owners there in person.

Running Brushy spring, a railroad and 77,595 residents

The area was known as Running Brushy in the mid-1800s, after a spring that George and Harriet Cluck bought along with 329 acres in 1873. The Austin and Northwestern Railroad came through in 1882, the name changed to Cedar Park in 1887, and the city incorporated in 1973. By 2020 it had 77,595 residents, most of Cedar Park lying in Williamson County with a small part in Travis County.

It is a suburban city now. Cedar Park Regional Medical Center opened in 2007 as the city's first major medical center; the H-E-B Center is home to the Texas Stars hockey team and the Austin Spurs; and Austin Community College runs its Cypress Creek campus here. East–west traffic moves on RM 1431, also called Whitestone Boulevard, and on Cypress Creek and Brushy Creek roads.

Why buyers want suburban service companies

Homes and families bring demand for plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, roofing and pest control, and buyers favor these trades because the work repeats: systems need maintenance, lawns need care, and customers who are treated well call back. Business-service firms that support those households and small employers draw interest for the same reason.

The firm has sold home-service companies such as Elite Landscape, Apple Garage Doors and Alliance Mechanical Services, and it understands what buyers pay for: service agreements, trained crews, a dispatch system that runs without the owner, and a customer list that keeps growing. Our home services page goes into more detail.

A Cedar Park sale, step by step

Our corporate office is in Frisco, so we come to you: your office after hours, your CPA's conference room, or a quiet table elsewhere. Buyers see only an anonymous summary until they sign a nondisclosure agreement and prove they can fund the deal. We then negotiate several letters of intent at the same time, so buyers compete on price and terms. Our process usually takes three to nine months from engagement to funds wired, and the free valuation snapshot is a fast way to see a first range.

Questions owners in Cedar Park ask

My Cedar Park company serves customers across the Austin suburbs. Does that help?

A spread of customers across several suburbs usually helps, because no single area or account carries the business. Buyers also look at whether your service area can grow without opening a new location. We show revenue by area and by customer type so they can see exactly where the growth has come from.

Will a private equity group want to buy a home-service company in Cedar Park?

Private equity groups buy home-service companies to build larger regional platforms, and a profitable Cedar Park company with steady revenue can fit that plan. They look for recurring maintenance revenue, good margins and a team that stays after the sale. We include them in our outreach alongside individual buyers and strategic acquirers.
