Lakeway business brokers and M&A advisors
If you are a Lakeway owner looking for M&A advisors to sell a company you have spent years building, MDR & Associates represents sellers only and handles the sale from valuation to closing. Lakeway sits on Lake Travis about 16 miles west of Austin, and although the firm is headquartered in Frisco, an advisor will come to you, at your company or a private spot near the lake.
From a 1963 resort hotel to a city of 19,189
Lakeway began on a 2,700-acre ranch owned by Houston oilman and rancher Jack Josey. Three Houston businessmen developed it as a resort community; work on the Lakeway Hotel began in October 1962 and the hotel opened on July 12, 1963. The village incorporated in June 1974 with 1,200 acres, and it grew up as a golf course community.
The city has grown quickly since. The 2020 census counted 19,189 residents, 68.5 percent more than in 2010. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center opened here in April 2012 with 100 beds, bringing an emergency room, imaging and outpatient care. Hurst Creek runs through town into Lake Travis, and Lakeway is part of Greater Austin's western fringe in Travis County.

Knowing the number before you decide
Plenty of owners want to know what the business is worth long before they are sure about selling. A formal business valuation gives a documented, third-party figure and is priced separately. Our free discovery meeting is lighter: we go over three years of financials and name a low end and a high end. Either route shows you where value comes from and what would raise it.
For companies of $3 million to $100 million in revenue, prices most often land at three to seven times adjusted EBITDA. EBITDA is profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, and the adjusted version corrects for owner-related and one-time items. Where a company falls in that range depends on customer concentration, growth, recurring revenue and how much of the business still runs through you. We recast your statements so one-time and personal expenses are added back, and we say so plainly when we believe full value is out of reach.
Running the sale from the Austin side of the lake
Once you are ready, we write the confidential marketing package, produce an HD video and contact buyers in our own records before placing any blind listing. Your identity stays sealed until a buyer registers, signs a confidentiality agreement and satisfies us the funding is real. We negotiate several letters of intent in parallel, and a firm principal brings each offer to you in person. The success fee is due only on closing. More about the metro is on our Austin page.

Questions owners in Lakeway ask
I live in Lakeway but my company operates elsewhere in the Austin area. Can you still help?
Yes. The test is whether the company is profitable, has Texas operations and has annual revenue in our $3 million to $100 million band. We can meet near your home in Lakeway or at the business itself, whichever keeps the sale more private, and the process runs the same way.
Is a free opinion of value enough, or does a Lakeway owner need a formal valuation?
For most owners deciding whether to sell, the free opinion of value from our discovery meeting is enough to plan. A formal third-party valuation, priced separately, makes sense when you need a documented figure for partners, estate planning or lenders. We will tell you which one fits your situation.
