La Marque business brokers and M&A advisors
La Marque owners who are thinking about selling a business can bring in MDR & Associates to run the sale as their M&A advisor, acting for the seller alone. The city sits on Interstate 45 and State Highway 3 about 12 miles northwest of Galveston, next door to the petrochemical complex in Texas City, and our advisors come down to meet you wherever is quiet, including your own business.
A Galveston County town that grew beside the plants
La Marque began as Highlands and took its present name, French for “the mark,” in the 1890s. Four railroads reached the town by 1914, when about 500 people lived there. Real growth came with the petrochemical complex in adjoining Texas City: the population was around 1,500 in 1952 and about 17,000 by 1977, as La Marque became home to workers at nearby chemical plants, refineries and a medical center.
Local commerce kept pace, from 90 businesses in 1952 to 130 in 1977 and 158 in 1988. The 2020 census counted 18,030 residents in this city within the Houston metropolitan area. An owner here works inside the Gulf Coast's industrial corridor, with Galveston a short drive down I-45.

When your biggest customer runs a refinery
Companies that supply, maintain or staff industrial plants earn the kind of repeat revenue buyers like. The same buyers look hard at how much of that revenue comes from one or two facilities, how contracts get renewed, and whether safety records and qualifications will carry over to a new owner. We gather that evidence before the company is shown, so questions about concentration are answered with contract history rather than hope.
Our business services page covers what buyers pay for in service contracts, and our Houston page describes the wider metro buyer pool. Anyone interested sees a blind profile first; the company's identity is released only once a buyer has signed a confidentiality agreement and documented, through a financial profile, the means to pay.
Our part, start to finish
The opening meeting is confidential and free. We read three years of financials and give you our honest view of the value range. If we accept the engagement, we recast your earnings, produce the marketing package and HD video, approach qualified buyers we already know before any public blind listing, and push for multiple letters of intent. A principal handles the negotiation, you owe a fee only when the sale closes, and most engagements run three to nine months. Other coastal towns appear on our Gulf Coast region page.

Questions owners in La Marque ask
Will buyers worry that my La Marque company depends on the Texas City plants?
They will ask about it. What calms that worry is evidence: years of contract renewals, work spread across several facilities, and qualified staff who plan to stay after the sale. We put that record in front of buyers early, so a strong customer relationship reads as an asset rather than a single point of failure.
Can buyers from outside Houston properly evaluate a company in Galveston County?
Yes. Buyers of service and distribution companies travel to see them, and a company inside the Houston metropolitan area is familiar ground for many. The marketing package, recast financials and HD video let a distant buyer understand the business before a site visit, which saves your time and keeps the process quiet.
