The sale
How it ran
Blooms Landcare was our second closing of 2024. It was sold to the same buyer who had acquired Peterson's Landscape & Maintenance through us a few months earlier.
That buyer is an investor building a commercial services group whose clients are mainly municipalities and government agencies — the kind of buyer who comes back for a second company when the first purchase goes the way it was described.

What buyers look at in a landscaping company
Maintenance revenue under contract
The number of contracts, their term, the renewal rate, and how much of the revenue your ten largest customers represent.
Commercial against residential
Commercial, HOA and municipal contracts are larger and steadier. A residential book is worth more when it is dense and on a recurring schedule.
Crews and foremen
Labor is the hardest part of this business. Foremen with tenure and a dependable labor supply are what a buyer is really acquiring.
