Pittsburg business brokers and M&A advisors
MDR & Associates helps owners in Pittsburg sell their companies, acting as M&A advisor on the seller's side only. The Camp County seat is best known as the former home of poultry giant Pilgrim's Corp, and our advisors come to you there for every stage of a sale, from the first conversation to closing.
A small county seat with a big name in poultry
Pittsburg is the most populous city in Camp County, with 4,335 people at the 2020 census, and sits between Mount Pleasant to the north and Daingerfield to the south. The town takes its name from the family of William Harrison Pitts. Beyond poultry, it is known for Pittsburg Hotlinks, and in 1902 it was the site of an early flight attempt by the Ezekiel Air Ship Mfg Co.
In a town of a few thousand people, a sale touches everyone: the staff, the customers and the family that owns the company. That is why the way a sale is run matters as much as the price. Our East Texas page covers the wider area.

What changes when you sell in a small town
Confidentiality is harder to keep when everybody knows your truck. We market the company with a blind profile, and no buyer learns its name until they have registered, signed a confidentiality agreement and shown the funds to buy it. Meetings can be scheduled after hours or away from Pittsburg altogether.
Succession is the other issue. Many small-town companies depend on the owner's relationships, and buyers pay more when those relationships have been handed to a manager or written into contracts. If you have a year or two, start there. When you are ready, our sell your business page shows what the work involves, and our fee page explains why you owe nothing unless the company sells.
How a Camp County sale would run
We begin with a free, confidential discovery meeting and, after reviewing three years of financials, an opinion of value given as a low-to-high range. If we take the engagement, we prepare a marketing package, a financial recast and a professionally produced video, then approach our own database of individual buyers, capital groups and private equity firms. The goal is several letters of intent at once, each reviewed with you in person. From engagement to funds wired usually takes three to nine months.

Questions owners in Pittsburg ask
Is a Pittsburg company too small for a buyer from Dallas or Houston?
Size depends on earnings, not the town. We work with companies that have roughly $3 million to $100 million in annual revenue, are profitable and have two or three years of records that reconcile. A company in that range draws the same kinds of buyers wherever it is located in Texas.
Will my employees in Pittsburg find out before the sale is done?
Not from us. Your company is presented without its name, buyers sign a confidentiality agreement first, and site visits can be arranged outside working hours. Most owners tell key staff near closing, when the buyer is confirmed and can explain plans for the team.
