Cameron business brokers and M&A advisors
MDR & Associates is an M&A advisor that sells owner-run Texas companies, and for a Cameron owner that means one team to value the business, find buyers and negotiate the deal. Cameron is the Milam County seat, on the Little River where U.S. 77 and 190 meet about 71 miles northeast of Austin, and we come to you.
Cotton, cheese, oil and aluminum: Cameron's economic record
Cameron's economy has been diverse over time. In the 19th century cotton dominated, helped along by the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway in 1881 and the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway in 1890. Oil exploration followed discoveries in Williamson County in 1915, and the Minerva–Rockdale field was found in 1921. In the 1920s and 1930s, milk-product companies including the Kraft-Phenix Cheese Corporation operated here.
In the 1950s Alcoa built an aluminum plant southwest of Rockdale, powered by the local lignite industry, and it became a significant source of jobs until it closed in 2009. The 2020 census counted 5,306 people in Cameron.

What a Milam County buyer will want to see
When a large employer leaves an area, buyers ask sharper questions about the companies that remain. How did revenue hold up afterward? Which customers replaced the lost work? A company that came through that period and stayed profitable has a strong answer, and we make sure the financial record tells it clearly.
Buyers also study customer concentration, the condition of equipment and whether the business depends on its owner for sales. We deal with each point in the confidential marketing package before a buyer raises it. That preparation is often the difference between a single low offer and several competing ones. Owners who want to know where they stand before deciding can start with a business valuation.
Cameron owners and the Frisco team: what to expect
Since 2008 the firm has completed more than 250 transactions, always on the seller's side. Your first meeting is free: we study three years of your statements and give you a range of value. Once we take on a company, it goes first to the private equity groups, capital groups and individual buyers in our own database. Offers arrive as letters of intent, negotiated side by side and presented to you in person. You pay nothing unless the sale closes; see how our fees work. The Central Texas page describes the wider area we travel to.

Questions owners in Cameron ask
Does Cameron's history with oil and lignite matter to buyers of my company?
Only if your revenue still ties to those industries. If you serve energy or industrial customers, buyers will look at how dependent you are on that sector and how you did through past downturns. If your customers are households, farms or local businesses, buyers will focus on that base instead and judge its stability.
Can I sell my Cameron company and stay involved for a while?
Yes. Many sales include a transition period, and some include a consulting agreement or an earnout, where part of the price is paid later if the business hits agreed targets. These terms are negotiated in the letter of intent. We explain each option in plain language so you know what you are agreeing to before you sign.
