Hewitt business brokers and M&A advisors
MDR & Associates helps Hewitt owners who plan to sell a business get full value without word getting out early. Hewitt is McLennan County's second-largest city, part of the Waco metropolitan area and hemmed in by Robinson and Waco, and one of our advisors will meet you in person, at your office or a private spot you choose.
From cotton town to Waco suburb
Hewitt began in the 1880s when John A. Warren, the town's first businessman, donated land; in 1883 the site was named for George A. Hewitt, an employee of the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad. For decades it lived on farming in the days when cotton was king. It incorporated in 1960, its population took off in the 1970s, and the 2020 census counted 16,026 residents. All of McLennan County falls within the service area of McLennan Community College.
Because Hewitt is a residential city inside the Waco metro, a company based here frequently serves the wider area rather than the town alone. If yours is a professional practice, staffing firm, insurance agency or other business-to-business operation, buyers who specialize in business services will look hard at contracts, recurring revenue and how much of each client relationship sits with you.

How a Hewitt owner gets a price, not a guess
We start with a free, confidential discovery meeting and, after reading three years of financials, an opinion of value expressed as a low-to-high range. For a quick look before that meeting, try the online valuation snapshot. Companies in the $3 million to $100 million revenue range most often sell for three to seven times adjusted EBITDA; where yours lands depends on growth, margins, customer concentration and the depth of the team.
Owners often ask whether to fix things before selling. Sometimes the answer is yes: a few months spent separating personal expenses from the company books, or putting a manager in charge of daily operations, can change how buyers read the whole business.
When you engage us, we recast the financials, produce a confidential marketing package and an HD video filmed by our own production team, and contact the qualified buyers already in our files before anyone else. Offers are reviewed with you face to face, and your CPA and transaction attorney stay involved from the letter of intent through closing. Owners elsewhere in Central Texas follow the same steps, but the buyer story we tell is written around your company and its place in the Waco market.

Questions owners in Hewitt ask
Will buyers treat a Hewitt company as a Waco-area business?
Usually, and that helps. Buyers think in markets, and a company serving the Waco metropolitan area reaches a larger customer base than Hewitt's own population suggests. We describe where your customers actually are, so a buyer understands the full reach of the business rather than judging it by the city limits.
What records should a Hewitt owner gather before a first meeting?
Three years of financial statements and tax returns, a current year-to-date statement, and a short list of major customers and key employees. We use them to form the opinion of value. Records that reconcile with each other save weeks in due diligence later and make buyers more confident in the price they offer.
